Karrey Hicks

She is a 12 week old kitten that came in with a puncture on her right front leg and a large mass on her left hind leg. She was limping on the leg for a few days and then the owners decided to bring her in. We did radiographs and nothing was broken, fractured, and the body cavity was still intact. So, then we did an ultrasound and found that the mass was fluid filled. We took a sample from the mass and it was purulent (puss) filled. The doctor is going to drain the abscess, flush it out, put the kitten on antibiotics, and other treatments. The owners are unsure of how this happened. And the owners have had this kitten since birth. They have the other siblings as well. They wanted to save this baby, and do all they can to help her and we wanted to help them keep and save their baby. The kitten came back three days later for a drain removal, and has been dong well ever since.
